3 Major Morning Habits to Get Clear, Get Confident, and Get Going

Here are the 3 habits that I’ve been practicing every. single. day.

They help set me up every morning ready to seize the day, owning that awesome feeling that I can conquer the world!!

Doesn’t that sound incredible? Picking up these habits and practicing them consistently every morning changed my life. I even got my husband on board to start doing them with me. And now, he’s totally a fan. Hah.

Habit #1 One-Hour No Phone Rule

This first one is a hard one. I know. It was really difficult for me to quit reaching for my phone first thing in the morning and not check my emails.

Most of us are unconsciously chained to our mailbox. But the truth is, 99% of the messages are NOT important nor urgent enough to require our attention first thing in the morning.

Checking emails first thing in the morning puts us in a defensive, reactive mode, and our minds would have no capacity left to make the proactive and sound decision on what actually matter, and that need to get done today to make progress.

are completely occupied with reacting to only the things that solicite our attention. Instead, we  , when we actually want to be in the offensive mode to be ready to tackle our day!

So, offensive or defensive mode? Your choice.

Habit #2 Visualization

Get clear on where you want to be, and create a clear picture in your head. Before or after your breakfast, close your eyes, and visualize your dream life 1 year and 5 years from now. Besides visualizing the scale of impact we make through Olea & Fig, I picture all the women go-getters we support and advocate for, my dream lifestyle, our upgrade home, and beautiful flooring, the trips I take my parents onto.

(I’m getting so excited just writing these down!!)

Have a clear picture in your mind allows you to see your dream clearly, so you can proactively set effective goals and actual steps to get there everyday. Getting all the details and a clear picture will take some time, and it may even change over time. This exercise is crucial to help you be aware of where you want to be, especially when this dream of yours evolves over time. Being able to see where you are 1 year and 5 years from now also helps you see how they align and how they’re different. These two pictures in your mind should reflect the progress you make as you grow forward and upward.

Habit #3 Star Pose

This one’s silly, but it’s my favorite! I actually do this exercise not just in the morning, but also whenever I feel that I need a picker upper or that I’m losing my momentum a bit.

So, here it is.

Do what she does, exactly, and take 4 VERY deep breath. Inhale all the positivity in the universe and exhale anything that is holding you back from growing.
