Tired of Seeing Low Conversion? Here Are 8 Jaw-Dropping Ways to Generate Desire on Social & Turn Followers into Customers
In our direct message inbox on IG, we often see this from people:
How do I grow my brand presence online, and turn my audience into customers?
When it comes to online marketing and everything social media related, it can get confusing, hectic and overwhelming. Plus all these platforms seem to be constantly changing, it’s hard to keep up with all the DO’S and DON’TS to grow effectively.
That’s why we organized this list with the top 8 things we’ve tried and that got us results and success. These are the best ways we found that helped us
grow our online following consistently
promote our business without sounding salesy which pushes people away
increase our brand awareness among our ideal customers
turn our audience into paying customers!
8 Proven Ways to grow your business on social media:
#1 Tell your ideal audience YOU are for THEM
Get clear on who you’re serving. Be so specific that when your ideal customers see your social media, they would know you are dedicated to serving and helping them. If you’re serving moms, what kind of moms? Busy, health-conscious, or modern moms? If you’re serving brides, do they pride themselves on being well-informed consumers or do they aspire to a luxury lifestyle?
Tap into their emotional desire and define your niche, and state who you serve in your bio, description and about section everywhere online. If you’re not telling your ideal audience that you are the one they’ve been looking for, they would neve know to even come to you, right?
#2 Build loyalty, not following
This is the secret of building and growing a loyal following and customer base. People don’t keep following an account or keep going back and make purchases just for the offers. They keep going back because they trust the brand, and they want to be part of what they brand is about.
Focus on building a brand that makes people what to follow along, not to gain another follower that will unfollow in 2 months. Share your mission, your why’s and your story behind your brand. These are the things that people are drawn to and feel emotionally connected to. You don’t need to stand out to everyone, but you need to stand out to YOUR people who share your beliefs!
#3 Don’t just sell your products or services
People aren’t buying your products or services. They are buying the transformation and results you are giving them with your offers. Don’t get stuck on describing all the details of the tools or processes you use. Focus on the benefits they care about and let them know how your products or services can bring them to where they want to go, rather than focusing too much on product features or service processes. Create a brand that gives your people so much more than another product or service in the saturated market.
#4 Show them people like them are buying
Everyone looks for validation when they buy; this is why we read reviews and testimonials from other people. Social proof from people - who we think are similar to us as customers - builds trust and reassurance when we are deciding to make a purchase.
Share the wonderful things your past customers have said about what you do on social media, in a post, a story, a screenshot, or a video. This is a form of selling without selling out or sounding sleasy or pushy.
#5 Add value first
This is THE key when it comes to online marketing. There are so many choices for consumers now, and in order to stand out, let them imagine what you could potentially bring to them by giving them a free tasting. This can be free trial, free sample, a short consultation, a free downloadable, or just free weekly tips in your post. Give people incentives to come back to you for more!
#6 Know your numbers
I often hear people feeling discouraged because they are seeing a low number of likes, especially after every time Instagram or Facebook change its algorithm. Here’s the thing, unless you can translate likes into sales, and know exactly how many likes lead to how many sales, it’s good to ask - what actually matters?
Are you focusing on likes, shares, saves or comments? These all mean different things. Are they just double tapping because it’s a habit? Or are they telling other people about your post? Is your post resonating is that why they are commenting and replying? Know your goals and numbers on social media, find out what drives those metrics, and repeat what’s working!
#7 Be Loyal to your audience
If you want more quality and loyal audiences, first ask, “Am I loyal to my audience?”
When we want people to come back to our content over and over again, we have to fulfill our commitment and promise to give them quality content, again and again. Get into the habit of posting quality photos, captions and stories that people are interested in. Commit to showing up consistently with great and effective content that your target audience are interested in.
#8 Show your appreciation
Show them love and care like you would to a friend who shows up for you. They’ve decided to show up for you and hear you out in this vast online universe. Besides letting them know how much you appreciate their support through your posts, get creative on how else you can show your appreciation! Consider featuring them, giving them special access to your offers, sending them DM’s, etc.
